This is me

Welcome to my site, it’s great to have you here.

I am a professional, award winning drummer and teacher, a keen meditator, a dad, a husband and am working hard to be a better person every day. I would love to help you become better as well.

I have over 30 years as a professional and internationally experienced drummer and educator; I see both roles as critically interconnected facets of who I am.

As a drummer, I play for national touring artists such as Mirusia & The Ten Tenors, international jazz artists Taylor Eigsti, Matt Penman, Roger Manins & David Friesen, and local artists such as Matthew Armitage, Kelsey Giarola, the Baker Boys and many, many more artists. I have also extensive experience working with Orchestras, review shows, sessions and recording.

As a teacher, I currently work at Griffith University Brisbane (The Conservatorium of Music), St.Andrews Lutheran College in Tallebudgera, Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar and privately in my home studio in Currumbin. I have previously taught at many institutions including: UQ (University of Queensland in Toowoomba), Massey University (Wellington New Zealand), JMC Academy (Brisbane), Scots College (Wellington NZ) & many other locations.

I officially endorse Tama Drums & Paiste Cymbals, have a Masters Degree in Composition & a Bachelor in Jazz Performance drumming. My original album ‘Resonator’ won the NZ Jazz Album of the year award in 2011.
